Food, water and shelter: These are the basic necessities we often take for granted. After hearing the stories of so many people being turned away from over-crowded shelters, being channeled through under funded government resources, only to end up back on the streets, we thought it was time to make a difference.  Often it is the elderly, disabled, HIV/AIDS infected and low-income families that experience the most of this misfortune.  My partners and I knew that all these people needed was a second chance at a new life.  With that idea we created a community of secure, fully furnished units that are move-in ready.  Most of our residents arrive only with the clothes on their back and that is why we never ask for a deposit of any kind.

Although we assist more than 60 people across North Carolina, our pride and joy is New Beginnings Avenue, named after us in 2007, located in Gastonia, NC. The heartbeat of New Beginnings Ave is our community center. In addition to our annual Christmas Party, we hold NA/AA meetings, educational training, arts & crafts classes and HIV/AIDS awareness seminars.

Providing this safe, permanent community has allowed our residents to thrive and transition back into society.
